Our 1-Day and 2-Day Fly Fishing Schools are designed with the beginner in mind! These schools offer a comprehensive approach to get you started the in the sport of fly fishing. A combination of classroom learning and activities along with hands-on casting, rigging and fishing is offered in each school. You will come away armed with the knowledge needed to get out and into your own adventures on the water.
No equipment or experience is necessary. Midwest Fly Fishing Schools will provide everything needed for your adventure. Learning Fly Fishing has never been easier!

Spend a day learning the basics of fly fishing. These schools are a combination of informal classroom and hands-on practice capped off with the opportunity to catch and land your first fish on a fly. This is a great way to “get your feet wet” in the sport of fly fishing.
Plan to arrive at the location (map and details provided) at 9:00 a.m. Topics covered will be basic equipment, knots and leaders, rigging, basic fishing technique, basic fly casting, basic entomology and fly selection and of course the fishing! You should plan on the day lasting until around 5:00 p.m.
Cost: $325.00 per student. Includes professional instruction, class information packet, gear & fishing.
Upon competition of the day students will also receive a coupon packet good for significant discounts and special offers at Mad River Outfitters and/or www.madriveroutfitters.com should you decide to purchase some gear.
Pre-Requisites: None. This class is designed for complete beginners or someone just getting into fly fishing who wants to jump start their learning process.

Immerse yourself in the world of fly fishing! These 2-day fly fishing schools will be held at Sunnybrook Trout Club near Sandusky, Ohio and Briarwood Sporting Club near Bellefontaine, Ohio. Centrally located for students from Detroit, Indianapolis, Chicago, Pittsburgh,Cleveland, Columbus, Toledo, Dayton and Cincinnati!

Private Schools
Can't make our scheduled dates? No problem!
Our 1-Day Fly Fishing Schools are also available for "private bookings" based on your schedule and availability, and held at one of our fabulous fishing locations. We can set up a day for you or your group and you will have an instructor or instructors all to yourselves.
Cost: $595.00 per 1 student, $695.00.00 per 2 students and $100.00 per additional*- Includes professional instruction, class information packet, gear & fishing.
